ECO Hike for International Mountain Day 2025

The Alpine Club of Pakistan, in collaboration with PTDC, Green Tourism Pvt. Ltd., the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, and Brain Design, organized a special ECO Hike at Trail 5, Margalla Hills, as part of the International Mountain Day 2025 celebrations. The event, held on 11th December 2025, brought together students, youth, environmental advocates, and adventure enthusiasts for an engaging morning of mountain conservation, environmental awareness, and responsible tourism practices. Participants explored the natural beauty of the Margalla Hills while learning about sustainable hiking practices, biodiversity preservation, and the ecological significance of Pakistan’s mountain ecosystems. Certificates of participation were awarded to all attendees, recognizing their active contribution and commitment to fostering a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment. MD PTDC, Mr. Aftab ur Rehman Rana, expressed appreciation to all partners, volunteers, and hikers, highlighting the importance of youth engagement in promoting eco-tourism and environmental stewardship. The initiative reinforced the role of adventure tourism in conservation education and strengthened community participation in protecting Pakistan’s natural heritage. The event exemplified PTDC’s vision of integrating tourism with environmental sustainability, empowering citizens to take part in preserving the country’s majestic mountains for future generations.
