Promotion of tourist activities can help strengthen national economy and put the country on its way to progress and development. Tourism promotes soft image of a country ay international level while national economy can also be strengthen through the development of this sector. The purpose of celebrating World Tourism Day is promotion of tourism, exploration of new tourist spots and conservation of archaeological sites besides safety of tourists and provision of necessary facilities at tourist sites.
Pakistan provides an opportunity to tourists to see natural scenes and ancient civilizations. K2, Nanga Parbat, Chitral, Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, Sawat, Hazara, Murree and mountain ranges of Kashmir attract tourists from all over the world. Tourist Sites of Pakistan comprises deserts, fertile land and beautiful mountain ranges and this country is also famous for archaeological sites of Indus and Gandhara civilizations. Pakistan is rich in natural beauty and is also a centre of ancient culture and civilizations.

Government of Pakistan is taking effective measures for the development of tourist sites and promotion of tourism. Climate change is a big threat to promotion of tourism and there is a need to take effective measures for overcoming this problem and all our efforts should be made for activating tourism industry for strengthening national economy.
I congratulate Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) on launching such an informative website and acknowledge their efforts for promotion and development of tourism industry in Pakistan. I hope that PTDC will continue its endeavor for this national cause.
